Woodbury United Lacrosse Player Code of Conduct

Participation on a Woodbury United Lacrosse team is a player’s choice and is a privilege. It is imperative that all members understand the following rules and responsibilities, and acknowledge that the Woodbury United Lacrosse, its coaches and program coordinators have every right to revoke these privileges for improper behavior.

As a member of the team, I agree to:

  • Compete intensely on the field, but always conduct myself in a sportsmanlike manner.

  • Represent myself and my team, on and off the field, reflecting the highest standards of

    Lacrosse.

  • Always respect officials, coaches, team members and opponents in my words and actions.

  • Refrain from using profanity or other abusive language.

  • Refrain from using illegal tactics during gameplay.

  • Use all required protective equipment and maintain my equipment to ensure a safe

    environment for myself and my opponents.

  • Conduct myself according to Lacrosse Rules.

  • Obey all rules set forth by Woodbury United Lacrosse coaches, tournament/clinic/event

    organizers.

  • Respect and abide by the decisions made at player tryouts and/or evaluations.

     

Woodbury United Lacrosse Parent Code of Conduct

As the parent(s) of _____________________________________________, I/We will:

  • Ensure that my child is mentally and physically prepared for practices and games.

  • Ensure that I try my best to arrive promptly and on time to all team events.

  • Ensure that I lend a helping hand at team events when needed and when asked.

  • Support the coaches and officials in their decisions. Strive to not undermine any coach,

    official or official in word or deed.

  • Respect and abide by the decisions made at player tryouts and/or evaluations.

  • Inform the coach, in advance, when my child will miss a practice or game.

  • Talk privately with my child’s coach regarding any concerns with his/her participation.

  • Support my child through positive reinforcement only, refraining from negative comments.

  • Respect the coaches in their role of team direction, and not coaching from the sidelines.

  • Refrain from inappropriate language, insulting remarks, threats, or any other form of

    disorderly conduct, and discourage its use by others.

  • Refrain from making any derogatory remarks or inappropriate actions toward the referees.

    They are a symbol of fair play, integrity, and sportsmanship.

  • Refrain from conflict with members of the opposing team’s players, coaches or parents.

  • Use a 24 hour “cooling off period” before contacting a coach after a game or tournament.

  • Refrain from the use of and/or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs before or

    during any practice, game.

  • Adhere to eligibility requirements, such as age and previous level of participation.

  • Understand that this code of conduct governs my actions from the time I arrive at any

    Woodbury United Lacrosse field to the time I leave the location of practices, games, team parties, and meetings etc. Any action, while on the site of any team or league event, is governed by this code of conduct.

    Acknowledgement

    I understand that my conduct as a parent is important to my child’s Woodbury United Lacrosse team and that behavior in violation of the aforementioned guidelines may subject me to disciplinary actions (verbal warning, request to leave the venue, or other), including the termination of my son/daughter’s participation on his/her Woodbury United Lacrosse team.

    Photo Waiver
    Participants or their parent (if participant is under the age of 18) permit the taking of photos and video during WULax events for publication in WULax brochures, website, and related media.
