Fan voting is underway to award the first-ever "All-Star Fans Choose" grant. Fans can vote now to award a $500,000 grant to one of seven Upper Midwest non-profit organizations.

Voting will run from Tuesday, June 10 through Thursday, July 10 with the winning non-profit being announced during MLB All-Star Week in July.

One of the finalists is the Madison Claire Foundation who has proposed the construction of a beautiful, all inclusive playground at the Bielenberg Sports Center right here in Woodbury.

Madison’s Place at the Bielenberg Sports Center in Woodbury will be the first fully inclusive playground built in the Twin Cities.

What is a fully inclusive playground?

• An inclusive playground lacks woodchips, sand and rocks that can make wheelchair and walker accessibility impossible.
• The entire structure is ramped end-to-end, allowing children and adults of any mobility level to access the highest play deck.
• It has accessible swings and ground level play components can be accessed by all children and parents or grandparents.
• It features with small space enclosures specially developed for children who may need a play space away from the action.
• It is outfitted with sensory rich play equipment specially designed for sensory development.
• It offers 16,000 square feet of fun.
• It is truly accessible for all kids, parents, and grandparents.

It sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

And it is. But it cannot happen without our help. The good news is that we CAN make this a reality. All it takes is a few minutes of YOUR time.
